History

The roots of Landkäserei Neuwies go back to the second half of the 19th century. Johann Luder founded the cheese dairy back then and a newspaper document from 1894 attests to the strict milk control of all farmers by the Neuwies cheese dairy. This did not change when Sandra and Philipp Müller initially leased the Neuwies cheese dairy in 2007 and finally bought the Neuwies property in 2013.

The following year, they expanded the cheese cellar in order to have more space for more unique cheese creations. Because that's what the Neuwies cheese dairy is known for: Whether it's the Helvetikuss, Wiesen-Zauber, Waldmeister or Weingestein, for example - all cheese creations are carefully handcrafted and offer unique enjoyment.

It is the lush green meadows of Toggenburg that characterize the Neuwies cheese dairy and make its cheese specialities so incomparable. Each of the creations represents a unique connection to nature, which is always individually reflected in the taste of the respective cheese. The uniqueness of the taste is also due to the experience gained from Philipp Müller's many years of traveling through a wide variety of cheese dairies throughout Switzerland. He incorporates this experience into each of his cheese specialties. As a family business, Landkäserei Neuwies only produces what it is absolutely convinced of. That means: pure nature. Quality instead of quantity. Sandra and Philipp Müller do not deviate from this, even if it means that it can take up to two years before they offer a new cheese creation.
