History

In 1929, the first generation of the Studer family took over the Emmental cheese dairy in Hatswil, which was originally founded in 1867. The third generation of the family switched production to Appenzeller cheese in 1992 and then continued to add its own cheese creations to the range. Due to the succession plan, the owners decided to sell the company to Emmi. The handover took place in 2013, but the Studer cheese dairy remains independent. The continuous focus on innovation combined with traditional cheese craftsmanship and state-of-the-art technology results in high-quality cheese specialties.

Käserei Studer attaches great importance to regionality and produces all its specialties in Hatswil TG from milk that is also collected fresh daily from the region. The milk suppliers are within a radius of approx. 40km. This means that the high quality promise can be guaranteed throughout the entire value chain, from the cow to the finished cheese. Käserei Studer also exports its cheese to Germany, the USA, Canada and Holland.
